Tiebreaker
Thoroughbred Stallion by Family Ties, 16.2hh, Black/Brown, 2001.
A truely well bred performance thoroughbred, Tiebreaker is the perfect sire of eventers and for refining the
Warmblood breed. He passes on his correct and elegant conformation and a good amount of bone.
The Performance....
Having been a delight from day one, Tiebreaker took the competition scene by storm in his first season.
A no fuss competitor, at 5 and 6 yrs old he was crowned:
WA State Novice Champion
WA State Young Rider Champion
Preliminary Reserve Champion
as well as taking out several other Dressage Championships.
Tiebreaker also competed at various jumping shows up to Maiden D Grade level and cross-country schooled up to pre-novice and one star as a 5yr old. He unfortunately sustained an injury to his foot while cross country schooling which sadly ended is ridden career before his eventing debut.
The Breeding....
Tiebreaker's Sire, Family Ties, selected himself as a prominent sire of eventers and jumpers - the quality and quantity of his progeny competing
at elite levels in showjumping and eventing is eye-catching, especially considering most of them are retrained ex- racehorses. With purpose
breeding the odds are even higher. Tiebreaker is from the last crop of Family Ties foals and is one of only 2 Family Ties stallions left in the World.
Family Ties' sire is Sir Ivor, the Sire of Grosvenor and Sir Tristram - both also proven sires of jumpers.
Tyson's Dam, Serving, was herself a typey thoroughbred who was well put together, athletic and with a wonderful temperament. She carries
the proven jumping lines of Lord Dudley (hugely sought after bloodlines for eventing in the UK) along with perhaps one of the most proven
sire’s of jumpers and dressage horses world wide, Precipitation. Serving’s mother also carries the Grey Sovereign line, Great Grandsire of
the New Zealand sire of jumpers, Beau Sovereign, as well as Nearco (Grandsire of the great Northern Dancer).
Tiebreaker now stands at Williams River Horses in Williams, WA. We are very excited about our partnership with Williams River Horses.
